In the role of the lead graphic designer within the team, they bore the responsibility of curating both digital and print assets to elevate Gorski's brand identity. A significant achievement under their purview was the formulation of comprehensive brand guidelines, a foundational document setting the course for future design initiatives. Their remit also encompassed the crafting of diverse digital elements, such as captivating social media posts and visually arresting web banners. Noteworthy among their contributions was their pivotal involvement in conceiving the primary seasonal advertisement for Mixte Magazine. Operating in close collaboration with developers, they deftly capitalized on the opportunity to elevate the website, ushering in a smoother and more enjoyable user experience. As the lead graphic designer on the team, I curated digital and print assets to enhance Gorski's brand identity, developed brand guidelines, and created engaging social media content and web banners. I also played a pivotal role in designing Mixte Magazine's primary seasonal advertisement and collaborated closely with developers to improve the website's aesthetics and user experience. Notably, I upgraded the product filter feature on the website, employing Figma to create mockups and iterations, contributing to a comprehensive range of design and web development tasks.

Engaging in a website refresh initiative, I collaborated closely with developers to elevate the platform, introducing new functionalities and refining the user journey. Our central objective revolved around elevating the website's aesthetics while introducing an upgraded iteration of the product page's filter feature. Employing Figma, I crafted mockups and iterations of this enhancement, fostering a smooth collaboration with the development team. My key responsibilities encompassed refining the website's overall visual appeal, reimagining the filter feature on the product page, and ensuring the seamless integration of this new facet within the existing framework.

In the context of the product page, our primary aim was to enhance user navigation. To achieve this, we orchestrated a 4-column layout, strategically placing the filter feature at the top for intuitive accessibility. To streamline the browsing experience, we implemented an overlay mechanism, allowing users to access filters with a simple click. This design approach yielded a coherent and organized appearance for the product page, significantly augmenting users' ease in browsing and locating desired content.

Key Takeaways

  1. Template Constrains : Since the initial website was built using a Shopify template, the challenge was to work within its constraints. Some of the features I proposed in the first iterations were not possible to implement with the current template. This forced me to rethink the various features and come up with a more approachable design that would be easier to implement.
  2. Testing, testing, testing : The developers team and I went through a good amount of iterations of the website, especially of the landing page. Working on this project made me realize how much testing is important in the scope of a user experience project.
